Choosing the right car seat

Choosing a car seat means finding one that fits your child, works with your car, and keeps them safe and comfortable as they grow. The range includes infant carriers for newborns, convertible seats for toddlers, and booster seats for older children — each one tested to safety regulations like ECE R44/04 and R129.

Finding the right fit

We group car seats by age and height/weight to help you narrow things down quickly.

By age:

• Birth–12 to 15 months: These seats support rear-facing travel and protect your baby’s head and spine more effectively — choose from infant carriers for easy transfers or convertible models that grow with your child
• Birth–4 years: These seats start rear-facing for early safety, then switch to forward-facing once your child reaches the appropriate age and weight
• 4–12 years: Booster seats lift your child so the seatbelt sits safely across their shoulder and hips, and reduce injury risk
• Multi-Stage Options: Some seats adjust as your child grows, such as 9 months to 12 years — they’re built to last, though they might be bulkier or less tailored to each stage

By height/weight:

• Birth–13kg: Lightweight and easy to carry, these seats suit newborns and smaller infants, especially if you're moving between cars often — each seat supports rear-facing travel to keep your baby safe in the early stages
• Birth–18kg: These seats fit larger babies and toddlers, and often allow rear-facing travel beyond the newborn stage — which is recommended for added protection
• 9kg–36kg: These multi-stage seats adjust from toddler to booster mode, making them a good option for long-term use — look for seats with harness and belt options that suit different stages
• 15kg–36kg: This range suits children aged 4 to 12 and includes booster seats that position the seatbelt correctly for safe travel
• Other ranges: If your child’s measurements fall outside these brackets, use filters to find seats that fit your child’s height and weight for a safer, more tailored experience

Understanding car seat groups

Car seat categories follow safety regulations — either by weight or height, depending on the model.

ECE R44/04 Groups:

• Group 0+: Rear-facing infant carriers for babies up to 13kg
• Group 0+/1: Convertible seats that support extended rear-facing and later forward-facing use
• Group 1/2/3: Combination seats that transition from toddler to booster-stage use
• Group 2/3: Booster seats for older children, typically aged 4–12

ECE R129 (i-Size):

i-Size seats use height-based categories and require rear-facing travel until at least 15 months. Most come with ISOFIX for secure installation and protect better against side impacts.

ISOFIX installation

Many car seats feature ISOFIX, a secure installation system that connects directly to anchor points built into your car’s chassis. It reduces the risk of incorrect fitting and improves stability. Check your car’s manual to confirm ISOFIX compatibility, then look for seats that connect securely to your vehicle’s anchor points.

Rear-facing vs. forward-facing

Rear-facing seats are essential for newborns and infants — they protect the head, neck, and spine more effectively. Extended rear-facing gives extra protection to your child’s head, neck, and spine. i-Size regulations require it until at least 15 months, but many seats support it beyond that for added safety. As your child grows, they'll move into a forward-facing seat. Always check the product specifications for age and weight limits.

Time for a booster?

When your child reaches around 4 years old — or they outgrow their toddler seat — it's time to switch to a booster. Booster seats lift your child so the seatbelt sits across their shoulder and hips — not the neck or stomach — and reduce injury risk while improving comfort during travel.
