Less bending. More comfort.
Raising your toilet seat by a few inches can make sitting and standing much easier. Raised toilet seats reduce strain on hips and knees, so you feel safer and more comfortable. Pick a 2″, 4″ or 6″ seat, add a lid for a tidy look, or include arms or a frame for extra stability.
Quick fit, easy clean
You can fit most seats without tools, and installation usually takes just a few minutes. These seats use a moulded piece with an antibacterial finish, so they’re easy to keep clean. Wipe with warm soapy water, dry, and re-check fixings regularly.
Find your height
- Two inches: A subtle boost for everyday ease
- Four inches: The most popular choice for post-op recovery or arthritis for everyday comfort
- Six inches: Extra height when bending is the hardest part, particularly for post-op recovery
Tip: Keep both feet flat on the floor for stability. Higher isn’t always better — choose a height that feels comfortable for you. If your feet don’t reach to the floor, choose a lower height.
Choose your support
- Seat only (no lid): Compact and easy to clean
- Seat with lid: Keeps things tidy and familiar
- Seat with a frame or arms: Built-in handholds for extra confidence when sitting or standing
Check the fit
Most models fit standard toilets using adjustable brackets or hand-wheels. Push the seat to the front rim, tighten both sides evenly, and test before each use. If it rocks or slides, re-fit or consider a frame. For square or D-shaped pans, check product specs or measure before you buy. Many seats and frames support up to ~190 kg or 30 stone, always check the spec.
Need something different?
If a raised seat isn’t right, try:
- Toilet frames or grab rails for extra push-off support
- Freestanding commodes for recovery or tight spaces
- Comfort-height toilets if you’re planning a bathroom upgrade
