"This product is not dishwasher safe. Please follow the cleaning instructions on the packaging:
Wash the urine bottle and adaptor after every use with warm soapy water. Do not steam sterilise. If required, sterilise with cold water method only (always in accordance to the instructions of the sterilising solution manufacturer). Do not use abrasive cleaning agents."

It's not totally opaque..only partial so yes you can and this helps you to know how full it is.
Hi it's somewhat frosted and you can see where the wee comes to but not clearly. It holds a lot. You could cover with a towel or carrier bag. Hope it helps
Friend got one and had over six months lid just starting to get lose holds a lot are recommended
Contrary to the Argos answer, whilst the lid is secure it DOES NOT prevent spillage. I filled mine with quarter full of water and held it with lid secured and pointing down and there is a fast trickle of water.
On the box under Warnings it says-
Please note the lid is NOT a seal it is just a cover and will not prevent spillages
