Great features
We bought this to aid with our daughters bed time. She loves to turn the clock blue and knows it’s time to wake up when it’s orange.

Bought for an elderly relative
I bought this for an elderly relative, who was failing to understand that staying in bed until 8am was better than rising and moving around the house in the early hours. It has worked wonders to bring his body clock back into line and now sleeps longer.

Works well for us
We had a problem with our 5 year old waking up multiple times during the night, since this has been introduced he now knows what time it is and what point in the night it is!

Great sleep aid
My daughter went from coming in our room at least twice a night to staying in bed all night, highly recommend

Does the job but very expensive
Prices seem to have almost doubled in the past year and no change in features. This is a replacement for one that broke, the screen faded down to nothing. Does the job but very expensive, just glad we can claim on the warranty

Works like a charm
I bought this as our child kept waking up so early. It was easy to set up and really does work well. It was easy for our child to follow with simple instructions so they know when to get up. Brilliant.

Brilliant clock for toddlers
I purchased this clock for my 3 1/2 year old who was always getting up at 5:45am. We have had it about 2 weeks now and she has slept in until 7am (when we set the clock to wake up) and she gets excited about it turning from blue to yellow

Hello Pippa.
After contacting our suppliers they have advised for the Tommee Tippee Groclock Sleep Trainer,Alarm Clock ,Nightlight.
The LED display features adjustable brightness settings, allowing you to increase or decrease the light level, making it suitable for use as a nightlight.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi Rachel,
Regarding the Tommee Tippee Groclock Sleep Trainer,Alarm Clock ,Nightlight; when the power goes off, the Groclock freezes all its settings, including the main time, wake up times and brightness. If the power goes off for a few seconds and then comes back on there will only be a few seconds’ difference. But if the power was off for a longer period of time, then the time will be out by the same length of time and you will need to reset the Groclock.
Thanks for using Q&A,
Hi Kel,
Yes, this would be suitable.

Hi Charlene
Our supplier says "The Groclock sleep trainer uses colours and pictures to help children who are too young to read an ordinary clock, to understand when it’s time to sleep and when it’s time to spring out of bed and play!
Simply set the time you would like your child to wake up in the morning and this sleep trainer clock will show the passing of time using colours and symbols.
When it’s time to sleep, the blue clock face features a sleepy Ollie the Owl surrounded by hearts and stars. As the time passes and reaches your pre-set wake-up time, the stars start to gradually disappear until there are only hearts left and our lovable Ollie the Owl appears awake on a yellow background. It will always be a blue face when going to sleep and yellow when time to get up.
With two time setting options, you can choose to set different weekday, weekend or naptime wake-up times.
With adjustable brightness settings you can easily turn the brightness down or off completely.
As your child grows the sleep trainer can also be used as a handy nightlight for comfort and reassurance or for when your toddler needs a night-time toilet trip
As your child gets older, parents can choose to set the optional audible alarm – perfect for routine wake-up times."
Thanks for using Q & A
Hi RL,
Thanks for your query about the Ollie The Owl Gro Clock.
Having checked, the digital clock feature is the default screen when you first switch it on though you can set it to not visibly show the time if you wish later on. The user manual states this is how you'd set up the time:
- Press the down key until its shows five small icons on your screen,
- Press enter key and a clock icon will flash
- Press enter again
- Set time by pressing the up and down keys to select the hour, the press enter
- Then repeat the same to select the minutes, and press enter
- Then select AM or PM and press enter.
(You follow mostly the same steps to set the wake up time but you click on the Sun symbol not the clock icon for this).
Thanks for using Q&A.
Mine came without book also. Received refund of delivery charge and very small refund. 3 yr old grandson would have preferred the book!
Mine has come without one too and my toddler is upset as I told him it will come with a new bedtine book for him... I told him this to help him get excited about using the groclock as part of the transition with using it.
Hi Tb,
A bedtime storybook is included in the Ollie The Owl Gro Clock box. Please contact our customer service team for further help with this issue.
Thank you for using Q&A.
You dont have to reset the wake up time, but you do have to tell it that you are going to sleep- its a faff- you have to press the down button twice, then the round button, then you have to hold the down button for 8 seconds to lock the screen if your kid is going to press buttons themselves. If I forget to do it my kid wakes me up in the night and I have to go and set it.
Hi there
No, it doesn't have to be reset every night. Once you set the wake up, nap and sleep times they are set in stone until you decide to change them.
Thanks for using Q & A
HI TB,
Yes, the bedtime story book is included with the Ollie The Owl Gro Clock.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello there,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised: The gro clocks don't change by themselves and you would have to manually set them back or forward a hour.
Hope this helps
