About this product
The GFW Madrid Ottoman Bed Frame gives you hidden storage for bedding and seasonal extras without taking up any additional floor space. It's a kingsize wooden frame with an oak-effect finish and a tall spindle headboard with a gently arched shape. The sprung mattress base lifts up easily from the foot end to reveal a deep storage compartment underneath. You can store quilts, cushions and extra bedding in the 650-litre space, keeping your bedroom tidy and organised.
The wooden frame has a plank-and-panel-effect boxed base that adds a country artisan feel to the bedroom. Sprung wooden slats in the base support your mattress and allow air to circulate underneath. Wooden feet lift the frame just 0.5cm off the floor. The side rail sits 30cm high, so getting in and out is straightforward. It's part of the Madrid collection, so you can match it with other pieces if needed. The headboard fixings are included, and the frame arrives flat-packed. Two people recommended for assembly. Elegant and built to last
I love my new bed, it is lovely quality and very sturdy and well made. I took my time reading the instructions and had an extra pair of hands available when needed. I am very happy with the storage space underneath, the central leg supports allow for a good 1m x1m area for storing my large drawings and prints, perfect!

Thus bed went together easily (so my other half said!) and I managed to store eight decent sized storage bags in it, I guess if you don't use storage bags you might get a bit more in. It is a nicely made solid piece of furniture, make sure you have a light mattress though, my mattress is heavy and with the bedding on as well - it's a bit of a weight to lift open.

This is a good looking, sturdy bed with good storage space. The colour in the photos is representative of the actual colour - a warm mid oak. It claims to take two people an hour to put together; it took three of us longer than an hour, but it was worth it! The instructions are fairly easy to follow.

The supplier has advised the following for the GFW Madrid Ottoman Kingsize Wooden Bed Frame - Oak Effect:
"There is no maximum or minimum depth for the mattress. However the customer must bear in mind that if the depth of the mattress is high; once the bed is made up with the pillows etc more of the headboard will be covered up."
The overall weight the bed can take is 260kg, that is the combined mattress and user weight, not the weight of the mattress only.
