About this product
The GFW Madrid Ottoman Bed Frame gives you hidden storage for bedding and seasonal extras without taking up any additional floor space. It's a kingsize wooden frame with an oak-effect finish and a tall spindle headboard with a gently arched shape. The sprung mattress base lifts up easily from the foot end to reveal a deep storage compartment underneath. You can store quilts, cushions and extra bedding in the 650-litre space, keeping your bedroom tidy and organised.
The wooden frame has a plank-and-panel-effect boxed base that adds a country artisan feel to the bedroom. Sprung wooden slats in the base support your mattress and allow air to circulate underneath. Wooden feet lift the frame just 0.5cm off the floor. The side rail sits 30cm high, so getting in and out is straightforward. It's part of the Madrid collection, so you can match it with other pieces if needed. The headboard fixings are included, and the frame arrives flat-packed. Two people recommended for assembly. Storage Bed
Thus bed went together easily (so my other half said!) and I managed to store eight decent sized storage bags in it, I guess if you don't use storage bags you might get a bit more in. It is a nicely made solid piece of furniture, make sure you have a light mattress though, my mattress is heavy and with the bedding on as well - it's a bit of a weight to lift open.

Good quality product! Delivery was delayed
I ordered the bed in December, and it took a very long time to be delivered. The delivery delay was not mentioned at the time of ordering, which was disappointing. However, once I received it, I was very happy. It is a very good ottoman bed — the quality met my expectations, it feels sturdy, and the storage space is very practical. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend it.

Good looking bed
This is a good looking, sturdy bed with good storage space. The colour in the photos is representative of the actual colour - a warm mid oak. It claims to take two people an hour to put together; it took three of us longer than an hour, but it was worth it! The instructions are fairly easy to follow.

Missing items
Bought this bed but have not been able to put it together because of missing screws 30 of them and 4 other fittings have been in touch with Argos and the people who packed the items and am still waiting nearly a week later . Have had to sleep on a mattress on the floor not good for a 71year old

“ No, we don’t provide any safety bar or leg with this ottoman bed. Within our instruction manual we do clearly state how to assemble the product correctly and how to operate the bed when in situ. We do provide guidance on how to care and look after the bed to ensure the product is working to its optimum capabilities. The piston mechanism we use within all our ottoman beds is designed when lifted to hold in the upright position on its own. This is a core design feature of the mechanism we use. Only when direct downward force is being applied to the bed frame then the mechanism will start to close whilst being guided downwards by human hand contact, as per our instruction manual. ”
