About this product
The Madrid Ottoman Double Bed Frame gives you a place to sleep and plenty of hidden storage beneath. It's built with a wooden frame that feels solid underfoot and stands up to nightly use. The tall spindle headboard with its gentle arch adds character without taking up floor space. The plank-and-panel-effect base keeps everything looking clean and purposeful. There's room for two people to sleep comfortably, with sprung wooden slats that support your mattress evenly across its width.
The mattress base lifts easily at the foot end to reveal a deep storage compartment that holds quilts, spare bedding, and seasonal cushions out of sight. It stores up to 563 litres, so bulky items fit without squashing. The end-lift mechanism makes access straightforward when you need it. Wooden feet lift the frame slightly off the floor for cleaning underneath. Assembly required, packed flat with all fixings included. Two people recommended for setup. Headboard fixings included. Manufacturer's one year guarantee provided.
The sprung mattress base can be easily lifted at the foot end to reveal a deep storage space that's designed to accommodate quilts, cushions and extra bedding.

Elegant and built to last
I love my new bed, it is lovely quality and very sturdy and well made. I took my time reading the instructions and had an extra pair of hands available when needed. I am very happy with the storage space underneath, the central leg supports allow for a good 1m x1m area for storing my large drawings and prints, perfect!

Thus bed went together easily (so my other half said!) and I managed to store eight decent sized storage bags in it, I guess if you don't use storage bags you might get a bit more in. It is a nicely made solid piece of furniture, make sure you have a light mattress though, my mattress is heavy and with the bedding on as well - it's a bit of a weight to lift open.

I ordered the bed in December, and it took a very long time to be delivered. The delivery delay was not mentioned at the time of ordering, which was disappointing. This is a good looking, sturdy bed with good storage space. The colour in the photos is representative of the actual colour - a warm mid oak. It claims to take two people an hour to put together; it took three of us longer than an hour, but it was worth it! The instructions are fairly easy to follow.

The supplier has advised the following for the GFW Madrid Ottoman Kingsize Wooden Bed Frame - Oak Effect:
"There is no maximum or minimum depth for the mattress. However the customer must bear in mind that if the depth of the mattress is high; once the bed is made up with the pillows etc more of the headboard will be covered up."
The overall weight the bed can take is 260kg, that is the combined mattress and user weight, not the weight of the mattress only.
