I bought this SSD a few days a go, it is lightweight and sturdy. Transfer speeds are very good via the USB3 port and I'm using it as a backup for my family photographs. The drive can be accessed via Windows and Linux operating systems

I bought this when I needed to buy a new pc with a lot of folders, music, etc, I needed to transfer from my old pc. It was a straigt forward plug and go to download what I needed and just as easy to upload the folders, etc, to my new pc. Sizewise, it was smaller than I expected. Definitely a good purchase. I have used a WD external drive for personal critical backup for over ten years and thought I should renew it as a precaution. I searched and found a replacement of another make and this was an Out of Box failure. Went to the Argos website and they had a very wide range of external drives including this WD unit. Our supplier has advised that the Elements drive is USB 3.0, which is a different connector to the Samsung Surface II. To connect to the Samsung Surface you would need an adapter or Hub. If this was purchased, yes it would work. You would need to purchase an adapter or Hub to go from USB-C to USB-A.
