They didn't stick to the wall which was a painted surface. Not sure if the paint is some weird anti-stick paint but no grip whatsoever.

The supplier has advised the following for the Command Large White Picture Hang Strips - 12 Pack:
"We suggest to not hang valuable items, like mirrors."
We'd have to add that this would especially be so if the mirror was glass, both because of its higher weight and the risk of it breaking if it fell. It's probably not so much of an issue for those very thin plastic mirrors that you can often get (especially the sort without any significant or heavy frame). Also, the user instructions confirm that you should not hang items over beds or on wallpaper with these. It is OK on painted walls though.

Ive always just dusted the surface and never had problems, I havent used alcoholto clean. The only place there have problems with the adhesive is in the bathroom because of the moisture. It probably tells you somewhere not to use in the bathroom!
