Good quality, quiet fan
I was looking for the quietest fan I could find and this one certainly fits that description! I used this at night during the recent heatwave in the UK and wasn't disturbed by it at all. I live in the country where there is basically zero ambient noise at night, but this fan remained quite enough not to disturb my sleep. The only reason I dropped a star is because at its core it's a basic fan, but I feel it's quite pricey. Having said that, the build quality is good and there are a couple of features I do appreciate, such as the 'breeze' mode and the wide range of 26 speed settings. I personally find the vertical oscillation feature somewhat useless, so don't use that myself.

Smart, powerful and virtually silent
A very well constructed, powerful and silent fan. Unfortunately, having purchased towards the tail end of the latest heatwave, I paid £140.00 which I consider a bit pricey. I strongly recommend this fan at its discounted price of £110.00. That said, I was grateful that Argos had it in stock as it was sold out everywhere else ! It took about 10 minutes to put together. Whilst I think that its 26 speed options are overkill, its other features are excellent. Night mode, natural mode, horizontal oscillating and vertical. I slept with it on the 20th speed and other than some white noise fell asleep easily. Compared to an old fan I had been using, this was almost silent. All in all I am very happy with my purchase. In life, you generally get what you pay for and this is no exception.

I bought this fan as it was one of Which's 'Best Buys', and there is absolutely no doubt that this is a lovely jubly fan. The design feels thoughtful; it's not an eyesore, it's really is incredibly quiet... but it's still a fan, and an expensive one at that. It blows hot air around when it's very, very hot, and it keeps you cooler when it's reasonably hot. It has a wide range of settings, and I'm particularly impressed that it can rotate upwards (although I've not yet encountered a situation where this would be useful...). These are the great parts! The not-so-great parts (I wouldn't go so far as to say bad), I don't EVER want to scan a QR code to access a manual. It comes with a 'quick start' guide, but this is not fit for purpose as it doesn't include assembly instructions, which leads me onto my next point. I don't want to have to search for a screwdriver to assemble a fan. It was meant to come with one, it didn't. Neither the quick start guide nor the full manual included instructions for how to remove the blades, and their packaging, from within the (screwed shut) grills. I was worried I was going to end up muscling it open, so desperate to actually receive some cool air I was. If you're of a less technology-literate generation, or just want a ready-to-go fan, this isn't for you. Ultimately, for me, the biggest not-so-great point is that the top fan speed (described as 26 on the screen) just simply doesn't feel top. I understand that if it did go faster, it probably wouldn't remain whisper-quiet, but isn't that the entire point of a fan? Either way, I'd buy it again, but begrudingly, and I'd probably search for a discount.
