Bought 2 of these for my campervan when we are away, fantastic cd player, sounds amazing, has a base boost too, you get more than you expected, we are very happy with it, my wife and I have stereo headphones of our as the earliest you get are ok, but much better with proper headphones, I personally would recommend this personal cd player

Fantastic CD Player at a Fantastic Price.
I saw the OAKCASTLE CD10 CD PLAYER on the Argos website, and although it only had one review it was glowing enough for me to purchase. But before I did I looked to see if OAKCASTLE have their own website, and I read many more glowing reviews about this item. The reason why I purchased this one over the CD100 is not because of the higher price but because this model uses 2 AA batteries. I'm old school, and I'm not ashamed to admit that. When I received the CD player I could not believe what was included for the price. Apart from a pouch or case of any kind (which I purchased BEFORE buying the player) and a USB plug it has everything you need to get started - a good-to-go item. Included is an AUX cable for connecting to your car stereo (I don't drive so don't need it for that but which I could use for connecting to my stereo speakers), an external control cable, earphones (I prefer to use my over ear earphones and they work perfectly with and without the external control cable), a USB to DC5V cable for using as a plug in system, and, most importantly 2 AA batteries. The player itself is amazing. I tried it out and the CD played great and the sound was clear. What I found amazing was the following. I stopped the CD before the last track and removed the disc. I wanted to try the player with a set of mini speakers (which work great) and I put the same disc back in the player. I thought it would start playing from the first track but it didn't - it continued from where it left off. I was shocked. I have since purchased another set of mini speakers which I used to have (and purchased in 1995 (gulp)) and they work great as well. You seriously cannot go wrong with this CD player. Get your digital kids one and show them how it's done!

Good when paired with the right accessories!
The casing is lightweight, but has a slightly cheap plastic feel to it - so not overly impressed with the design. As always, once you ignore the cheap supplied headphones + replace with your own favourite, you'll hear this player at it's best. Imagine it's a similar case with external speakers, but I haven't tried that yet. You also have the 'base boost' as an option. So far so good.

Not Great in the Car
Tried using it through the car aux but the sound cuts out if you hit bumps. Not ideal for driving.

The sound quality is fine but the 7-hour battery claim feels off. Mine lasts more like 4 or 5.
