They Just Get Better
The Dyson V8 is the fourth Dyson vacuum I have purchased in the last 18 years. As expected, excellent suction, lightweight but with a solid build and, as always these days, adaptable as a handheld for cleaning upholstery and easy to empty when cleaning is done. I still have a corded (orange) ball which also still runs really well after about six years and I reckon the V8 will also be with me for a long time to come.

So pleased with our Dyson. Actually does what it says on the tin. Does the whole house without recharging. Holding the start button while in use is also no problem for us. Lots of extra tools included. Absolutely fabulous…..

Poor suction
Bought this to replace my Dyson animal and it's not a patch on it I'm afraid. It's very poor suction even on highest setting and very difficult to manoeuvre! I've had Dyson's since they first came out and this is by far worst one I've ever purchased. Very disappointed overall

Wish I'd upgraded sooner. Gar better suction than my first Dyson quiet on carpeting but noisy on hard floor surfaces. The power unit is heavier too but emptying and cleaning is really easy

Best Machine Yet
This is my 2nd dyson, its a V8 asdvanced. My previous machine was a V10 animal which after several years of good service I replaced. The V8 is a cheaper machine, a lot lighter and amazing performance, the suction on the lower setting is alI I use as it picks up better than my old machine, I rarely use the higher settingas there's no need, the other feature I love, is the fact hair ends up in the dust pot and not around the brushes. Althougth the pot looks small it holds plenty of stuff and only needs emptying once per house clean, I can vac my 3 bed semi on 1 charge inc of stairs pic rails etc. The only downside was only 3 tools where supplied how ever the tools on my V10b fiitted :). A great buy . Ps my daughter bought one after trying mine

The Dyson website says the V8 unit DOES come with a wall storage dock - I presume you store the unit on the wall and simply plug into the charging plug.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Dyson V8 Cyclone Cordless Vacuum Cleaner.
We would like to inform you that loop pile carpets are made with loops of yarn that can snag or fray if exposed to aggressive brushing. The Dyson V8 Cyclone Cordless Vacuum comes with a motorized cleaner head featuring rotating bristles, which are excellent for deep cleaning—but may be too harsh for delicate loop pile surfaces.
To ensure safe use:
Use the soft roller head or turn off the brush bar, if your model allows. This provides suction without agitation, making it safer for loop pile carpets.
Dyson also offers attachments designed for delicate surfaces. If you have the soft roller cleaner head (typically used for hard floors), it may be gentler on loop pile carpet.
Test a small area first to ensure no damage occurs.
Avoid high-power modes that increase brush speed and suction.
Regularly check for snagged fibers after vacuuming.
