Solar charging with in built battery is ok...ish

Decent quality camera which can be used wire free. The solar panel does help to recharge the device however a few cloudy days later and I needed to remove and recharge from the mains. This could be overcome by having it permanently Wired in which would defeat the purpose. I have been using this to monitor my front door however I might now use it to keep an eye on my pet chickens in the garden instead. The reolink app is very good and has a lot of features like 2 way sound, motion detection and time lapse features. I didn't receive the memory card so I've not been able to try the playback feature. I don't think I'm convinced security cameras can be used wire free so I won't be ditching my wire powered cameras just yet but this can be useful in some cases.

Good Quality Camera, Let Down by Motion Alerts

We’ve been testing this camera and overall, it’s been a decent bit of kit with a few standout positives, but also a few frustrations. The picture quality is great, it loads quickly when accessed through the app, and it was easy enough to put together and install. The battery life has been impressive too, after a couple of weeks, it’s still going strong. One feature we really liked was the time-lapse playback. You can record throughout the day and it creates a quick video showing the activity over time, which is a nice touch, especially if you want to monitor work being done or general movement. The downside for us has been the motion detection settings. While it picks up people and cars well, it doesn’t handle general or smaller movement very smartly. For example, it’s not great if you want to catch specific things like a pet, we wanted it to detect our dog on the driveway, but we couldn’t fine-tune the detection area. It ended up picking up everything, blowing hedges, a bit of tarpaulin, etc. which meant we had to switch the feature off entirely because the constant notifications got a bit much. If the smart detection was a bit more refined, this would have easily been a four-star product. But for now, it’s a solid three stars from us.

Like this security camera. Great images and it is wire free. You charge it using solar panels so save in electricity. Would have liked a wired option but thats personal choice. Whats handy is it gives notification of any movement detected and there is the added 64gb memory.

Cracking little camera

I found the Reolink security camera was very easy to use and set up. It gives very good clear views during the day and night time is adequate. Battery life if is good and lasts really well. Reolink also offers a good support site if you need any help there customer service is excellent.

Quality solar powered outdoor camera

Sturdy build and good quality product. Mounting was straight forward and there is ample cable from the camera to the solar panel so they don’t need to be too close to each other. Straight forward to set up from the downloaded app but do this before mounting as the set up is easier if you scan the label on the camera. The connection to the WiFi was smooth. Be aware that as this camera is battery operated so it does not do continuous recording. You can alter the recording settings in the app to best suit your needs. Nice clear recordings, again easy to access from the app. Solar panel is charging the camera well however we are having fairly sunny days at the moment. This is my first experience with a CCTV camera and the process was painless.

Hassle free install of solar powered Camera

Reolink setup was very straight forward with only about 3-4 steps required. It’s small compact and can be fitted anywhere discretely without looking out of place. Camera quality is great at 2k with onboard storage reducing the need for a paid cloud storage solution. The app setup was also seamless and quick unlike other cams I have used the pairing can take multiple tries. The Reolink app is also highly customisable on the cameras settings and offers some new features like Timelapse to capture morning or evening sunrises. I also like the fact they include straps should you wish to strap it to a tree, in my case I tried strapping it to my garden fence post, works but a little slack so I may just switch screwing it in fully. The only improvement I would say is the manual lacked any info for the camera setup even though it’s not complicated and easy to configure the manual only gives instructions on solar panel mounting and backplate setup. But it’s pretty much the same for the camera. Overall very pleased with the camera it’s high quality build and high performance.

Everything you need in one box .

This is the first security camera I have had so it was all new to me . I liked the idea that it was wire free and no subscription . You do need to drill holes to mount the camera and the solar panel , all the screws and plugs were supplied in the box. The cable that attaches the solar panel and the camera together is of a good length, so they don’t need to be near each other. Once you have downloaded the reolink app it takes you through each step to connect it with the camera. There is a QR code on the camera to scan . This is best done before you mount the camera, I found out after . The live stream takes a few seconds to connect once you click on the app. The two way talk from the app is good and clear . The video quality is good , you can have a siren sound when motion is detected, but I turned that off . The sd card is good as it records movements of people and vehicles, and you can play back from the app . If a person or vehicle is detected you got a notification to your phone . In my opinion it’s not the smallest of cameras but everything you need is in the box , and for my first camera it does what’s its supposed to.

Brilliant Security Camera

A nice, simple security camera. This camera was easy to set up and connect with wifi using the app. It sends alerts for any motion captured and has a nice, clear picture and sound. The solar panel to power it is fantastic as it allows for a simple, wire-free set-up.

Brilliant home security camera without the hassle

We were really excited to get the Reolink security camera with the solar panel as the rear of our garden was a blind spot behind the shed. My husband mounted the camera to the top of the shed and the camera view now covers the entire of the end of the garden, including the access gate. It was very easy to mount and set up, with the picture quality being a much higher definition than our other security cameras. My husband charged the battery initially but since then, the solar panel has kept the camera running without any interpretations. The app is easy to navigate and the picture clarity and sound make it an excellent option for capturing and monitoring movement outdoors. We particularly like the alarm feature that alerts trespassers, as well as being able to talk through the camera to people in the garden. I would have loved to have given it 5 stars, however we have noticed that when there is movement, not all of the action is recorded. On our other security cameras, the video saves from a couple of minutes before the movement up until the movement has stopped. With this camera, the recording begins just after movement is detected and will stop even when there is still someone moving around. This could be an issue, especially if there are trespassers stealing from the property and the recording is required as evidence. Something to consider! Either way, I'd still recommend this product for practicality, quality and ease of use!
