Im very happy with my purchase,I have never experienced home tv with surround sound,and the samsung t420 has made watching moves at home a all new level home entertainment and with the subwoofer a can say it feels close enough to being in a cinema and for the price you can't go wrong

Great budget soundbar
For the price you can't go wrong with this sound bar. Connect it via optical cable to TV in seconds and you'll get clear audio from speech & sound that will fill your living room much louder and clearer than just tv speakers. Bass is good from the subwoofer. Obviously don't expect the same immersion as top of the range setup but if you just need clear sound on a budget you can't go wrong

It’s ok, but only ok. Previously I had the T400 which was much better, but suddenly stopped connecting to the TV. This T420 isn’t as clear.

The Samsung HW-T420 2.1Ch Sound Bar with Wired Subwoofer connects directly to the TV. You can connect the subwoofer to the soundbar using an RCA cable, and the soundbar will automatically connect to the subwoofer when powered on. If the connection does not work automatically, you can manually connect them by following the instructions provided in the user manual.

Ignore the previous answer. This soundbar doesnt have hdmi, so their advice is pointless. If you dont want to use Bluetooth and dont hhave optical input in your TV then youd hhave to choose a different soundbar. Im shocked this doesnt have hdmi, optical is outdated.

The supplier has advised the following for the Samsung HW - T420 2.1Ch Sound Bar with Wired Subwoofer:
"The Samsung HW-T420 soundbar primarily connects using an optical (digital audio) cable. If the customer’s TV does not have an optical port and they do not wish to use Bluetooth, the only alternative connection method would be HDMI-ARC, provided the TV supports it.
If the TV has an HDMI port labelled ARC, the customer can connect the soundbar using a standard HDMI cable and select the appropriate input on the soundbar. This would allow the TV to output its audio through the soundbar without using the optical connection.
However, if the TV does not have an optical port, does not support HDMI-ARC, and Bluetooth is not an option the customer wants to use, then unfortunately there would be no compatible wired method to connect this particular soundbar to the TV."
