Bought this for a Christmas present because it came top for pedestal fans in Which magazine.. The quietness of it was a key reason for purhase. It is also made in the UK, has a 3-year warranty and can be operated with a remote.

Cools a large room
So many positive reviews and I agree with them. Cools the room well due to the way it oscillates and quiet in use. Remote works well with decent range. The temp gauge can be dimmed a lot or turned off if that is in use to know.

Quiet, powerful, has all the features could want (pivot, tilt etc). Havent worked out how to dust the fans however with the cage.

Excellent fan
During the hot summer months of 2025, this fan was excellent. On the low setting, it is so quiet it can be left on all night for an undisturbed sleep. On the very lowest power setting, the horizontal oscillation can be set so that a gentle breeze covers the whole bed or room. This fan is not cheap to buy, but very cheap to run. Quality British engineering at its best.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Meaco Sefte White Pedestal Fan - 10 Inch: The sensor on the fan shows the current room temperature, but the fan itself doesn’t let you set or change the temperature since it’s not an air conditioner.

The Meaco Sefte White Pedestal Fan - 10 Inch has a brushless motor for a quieter operation, the noise level starts at 25 decibels which is considered very quiet. For, comparison, 30 decibels is considered to be a whisper.
Higher speeds may be slightly louder, but, all in all, this is a very quiet fan.
