About this product
The Vax Rapid Power Pro is a proper carpet cleaner that tackles deep-down dirt in carpets, upholstery and car interiors. It's got 5 rotating SpinScrub brush bars in the floorhead that work into carpet fibres to lift out grime that vacuuming alone just can't shift. The AutoMix system sorts out the water and solution ratio for you, so there's no measuring or guessing involved. The tanks are generous at 4.7l each, which means you can get through a fair bit of cleaning before you need to stop and refill or empty. It dries in about an hour, so your carpets aren't soaking wet for ages.
You get 1200 air watts of cleaning power, plus a wash and rinse function to really freshen things up. The 8m power cord gives you decent reach, and there's a 2.5m hose with an upholstery wash tool for sofas, stairs and car seats. It sucks up spills as well as cleaning, and there's a safety cut-out that tells you when the dirty water tank is full. At 8.4kg it's not the lightest, but the carry handle makes it manageable. It comes with an upholstery wash tool and 250ml of Platinum Professional Carpet Cleaning Solution to get you started. Works across carpets, upholstery and stairs.

Light and efficient
I bought this to replace our aging VAX carpet shampoo machine. The old machine was good, and lasted us more than 20 years, but is now sadly just too heavy. The new machine is much lighter and easier to handle. Despite being lighter, it still does the same cleaning job.

Light weight, but disappointing water removal
This is much lighter than my old vax which is a plus, but it is only useful for very light soiling and very bad at removing the water . ( I went over the area with my vax spot cleaner (on hands and knees )to extract the water after using this upright - so this machine is a disappointing VAx purchase

I've been using a vax cleaner for a few years which has always been good but this new one is even better...the colours in my rug really came up brighter than ever before and the hose was perfect for my sofa also the machine feels more lightweight and easier to carry up the stairs.

The supplier has advised the following for the Vax Rapid Power Pro Upright Carpet Cleaner:
How easy it is to clean is very much a personal, subjective matter. To slightly simplify the process, once switched off and unplugged, you remove the water tanks. Then you tilt the appliance back so it's lying on the floor to allow you to see and access the bits you need.
The brushes are set into a little open "box" which you pull out. You then remove the brushes and you can then clean them by getting off any debris, hair, etc. and then rinse them under water to clean them fully. After they've been left to fully dry, you'd basically follow the disassembly process but in reverse to to fit them back onto the appliance.

I can advise that the Vax Rapid Power Pro Upright Carpet Cleaner is suitable for cleaning woollen loop pile carpets. As with all floor types, it is recommended to test an area for pile distortion that is usually hidden from view.
