After checking with our supplier, they have advised: it is very simple to set the time. All you need to do is hold the button in until the hours start to flash. Then short presses until you get the correct hour. Then just repeat for the minutes.
It is a 24 hour digital display.

The supplier has advised the following for the Mojang Minecraft Kid's Green Silicone Strap Watch:
"The watch light does flash, even though it is not a fast or very bright flashing light, we would not recommend it to be brought if your child is epileptic."
We'd also add to that to say that we'd also recommend speaking with a qualified medical professional on what types of item would be suitable for someone who is epileptic before considering the purchase of an item which does flash.
