Having checked the instructions. The dimensions 42.5cm is the width of the wheels, from the front to the back of the Rail. The width of the rail is approximately 4ft/1200mm.

“ Yes, the rail can be assembled without the middle bar. The Top pole and bottom pole need to be assembled with a screwdriver, the middle pole just pushes together. ”
