Completely bearable music-making! Although it's probably not advisable to leave a toddler alone with the beaters, they're much more safe than others I've come across.

This item was purchased for my toddler grandson. I have bought many Fisher Price toys over many years as their quality was always excellent. This product although constructed with good materials, was not capable of producing clear notes as they were prevented from doing so by the plastic the metal plates were resting on. The notes were muffled to the point of being indistinguishable from each other.
The item was returned without problem.

It's lovely but the mallet that comes with it is pretty useless and gets barely any sound out of the xylophone. My kids use other toys as the mallet to get any decent sounds out of it.
