Too expensive, but work.
Never understood why these are so expensive, but they do work, where lot's don't; I had tried a 3rd party one which killed the HDMI signal on my Mac mini when it was plugged in. Sadly the packaging was quite dirty like it had been hanging round the warehouse for many years, and one had clearly been opened, used and returned.

They are already used !
I went for Apple as its quality, although a little expensive. I ordered it from Argos and collected the next day. The box had been opened, with a sticker on it saying 'Argos quality assured'. I should have rejected it at once. But I took it home but neither USB port worked. I returned it and asked for a replacement, brand new adaptor. I stressed I didn't want a used one. That arrived the next day and that too had been used. The box was dirty and there wasn't even a quality assured sticker. So twice I expected a brand new Apple adaptor and twice I had a used one, in tatty boxes. The assistant said this was quite common with Apple products from Argos.

It works
One of the problems with getting an Apply product is getting accessories. My last lap top had a VGA adaptor for use with teh projector. My Air Mac hasn't. this fills the gap

Didn't need this...a single adaptor would have been cheaper.

The adapter is really useful for connecting a variety of items and is small enough to pack away too.

Not for MacBook Pro 2019
Images are so pixelated when you watch videos. I am using a McBook Pro 15inch 2019 Majave 10.14.6. Probably made thorough, solid and heavy. Not worth the high price.

Hi Ted73,
No, this Apple USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter wouldn't be suitable for that purpose.
Thanks for your question.
Hi,
No, this is a MacBook compatible accessory only. The iPhone uses a lightning connector port. If you want to use the iPhone to present on VGA then you need to purchase the Lightning to VGA Adapter Apple part number MD825ZM/A.
I hope this helps. :)
HI there,
No this is not for that purpose.
Thanks for using Q&A.
