Cheap sound bar

Good value, giving improved tv sound.
The sound quality from my LG 43UK6400 tv is much improved, thanks to the addition of an LG SQM1 2.0 soundbar. I connected it via an optical cable and the audio is perfectly synced with the picture, with clear dialogue in 'Standard' mode. I've played Radio 1 through it (off the tv) with 'Bass Blast' engaged and it's got some thump! And pairing the soundbar with my phone via bluetooth was easy. Having multiple types of input on the soundbar and an improved tv audio quality makes it a good value upgrade.

Just what I wanted
I bought this to go with a large old TV whose picture quality was good but whose sound quality left something to be desired. If I had any issue, it was with the sparse nature of the operating instructions supplied but this was overcome by downloading a full set from the LG website. I used the 3.5mm audio jack connection (they call it the 'port' connection (perhaps for 'portable'). There are no buttons on the main unit - it is operated entirely from the remote but the lights on the front make it clear when a signal has been received. I adjusted the TV internal balance control to give good speech quality in the 'standard' mode. The 'base blast' mode is then simple to use to enhance the base for music if desired. Altogether a very satisfactory design - I now find I am less dependent on using subtitles! .

"This will rely on the type of Bluetooth hearing aids, the soundbar is a receiver so something has to connect to it, it can't decide and choose what it connects to. The other device has to be able to pick the soundbar to connect to, so that is what I mean by it depends on the hearing aids whether it can do this or not."

The LG SQM1 2Ch All-In-One Soundbar does have Bluetooth that can be used by Bluetooth enabled devices like Smartphones, MP3 for streaming your music. You will not be able to use the Bluetooth function with your wireless headphones.
