About this product

Imperata cylindrica 'Red Baron' is a compact, clump-forming ornamental grass with upright green leaves flushed with vivid red tips that intensify from summer into autumn. Ideal for borders, gravel gardens and containers, it adds bold contrast, texture and architectural structure to planting schemes. Prefers full sun and moist but well-drained soil, is low maintenance once established and reaches around 50 cm tall. Plant in a sunny or part-shade spot, water well after planting and during dry spells, and cut back to ground level in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges.
