Brilliant tool.
Brilliant. Should have purchased this ages ago. Had carpets fitted. Doors stuck as a result. Bought a hand planer which was a complete waste of time and impossible to use. Be careful with this and keep an eye on the amount you remove. The dust bag is pretty useless but what do you expect when you compare the task at hand and the size of it. Dust will get everywhere so be conscious of where you use it. Overall a really good tool and I highly recommend it.

Value for money
This planer is excellent value for money. I'm sure there are better planers out there but for occasional use this is perfect and does the job well.

Hello Summerzby,

Hello Chris,
The supplier has advised the following for the Guild Planer - 650W:
“ Although it would work, we would not recommend it as it will blunt the blade of the planer and possibly cause damage to your draws. This is more suitable for a sander than a planer. ”
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi there,
I can advise the following for the Guild Planer - 650W:
This is suitable for cutting wood doors with a 2mm maximum cut depth and 10mm rebating depth. As fire doors have a solid core and are sometimes combined with different materials, we would not recommend using this product on a fire door.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi AL

The Planer can be used to smooth the sides of most wooden surfaces, It is recommended however to do so on a secured flat horizontal work surface and not while an item is 'in situation'.
Hi Lazzer,
