Customers Say
Affordable, effective electric planer ideal for DIY door fitting and light woodworking. Easy to use with good cutting performance and dust collection, though some find it heavy and dust bag less efficient.

A joy to use
I am not a craftsman. I faced the prospect of spending hours sanding a gate that had expanded. I bought this item in desperation without expecting very much because if the low price. It was a joy to use and made it so easy to trim the door to fit the doorframe. Fabulous value. Now what door can I trim next?

Excellent value for money
Very pleased with the planer. Used it to trim two wooden doors. It was effortless and made the job more manageable, definitely a step up from using a sander.

Very well made
Remarkably 'heavy' feel to the plane, and very robust base plate with a range of guides that screw to the side of the plane to help keep it level. Blade has replaceable cutting edges and feels sharp. Easy to set the cutting depth and with the extraction bag it keeps dust to a minimum. Brilliant value for money

It was really a no brainer purchase. Best of all it cuts down time and achieves a better finish also it makes me look a tradesman

Hello Chris,
The supplier has advised the following for the Guild Planer - 650W:
“ Although it would work, we would not recommend it as it will blunt the blade of the planer and possibly cause damage to your draws. This is more suitable for a sander than a planer. ”
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi there,
I can advise the following for the Guild Planer - 650W:
This is suitable for cutting wood doors with a 2mm maximum cut depth and 10mm rebating depth. As fire doors have a solid core and are sometimes combined with different materials, we would not recommend using this product on a fire door.
Thank you for using Q&A.

The Planer can be used to smooth the sides of most wooden surfaces, It is recommended however to do so on a secured flat horizontal work surface and not while an item is 'in situation'.
Hi Lazzer,
