slightly bad design
I bought this planer two weeks ago, it does what it says on the tin. The only complaint I have is the trigger and the safety button have to be held in at the same time making awkward to use when not in a flat position

Fantastic value good quality for price
Purchased a month ago to finish fit some heavy duty wooden doors. Was originally going to use a hand planer but left at home. Found this in stock at Argos and on the shelf, wasn’t expecting much for the price but was really surprised. Made easy work of the job!

Hello Chris,
The supplier has advised the following for the Guild Planer - 650W:
“ Although it would work, we would not recommend it as it will blunt the blade of the planer and possibly cause damage to your draws. This is more suitable for a sander than a planer. ”
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi there,
I can advise the following for the Guild Planer - 650W:
This is suitable for cutting wood doors with a 2mm maximum cut depth and 10mm rebating depth. As fire doors have a solid core and are sometimes combined with different materials, we would not recommend using this product on a fire door.
Thank you for using Q&A.

The Planer can be used to smooth the sides of most wooden surfaces, It is recommended however to do so on a secured flat horizontal work surface and not while an item is 'in situation'.
