Fantastic product
We brought this a couple of months ago and it is now one of our most used items in the house! It is perfect and does exactly what you need it to do

Not up to Philips standards
It was very difficult to set it up and after hours of resetting the device and router finally got it working. And then in the next few hours later app would not find it or reconnect to it so we were stuck with the settings and it is just painfullly annoying to use the app as it almost never connects to it so we’re stuck on one setting. Very disappointed with this product as it is not cheap.

It’s ok but very expensive
This won’t be needed if you have a Samsung tv but unfortunately I have lg oled and I had to buy this disappointment as this is quite expensive and does work on home in apps on tv so what ever you connect is only working with that

Excellent bit of kit but had issues with Sky Glass
Wasn’t aware that this doesn’t work with Sky Glass, I plugged my fire stick in to the sync box which I thought would work but it’s all to do with the Sky Glass HDMI input. The way I got around it was to purchase a Sky Puck to plug in to the Sync Box and then was able to use it on my Sky Glass TV by selecting the Puck from apps & inputs. I only plan to use the lights while watching movies so I just use the Sky Puck input when I am. Once I got it up and running honestly the lights are absolutely brilliant and fully immerse you in to the movie you’re watching. Hope this helps anyone who is struggling with Sky Glass

So disappointed!!!
Terrible!!! I have hue everything and this will not connect? I’ve tried everything to connect it but nothing works?? No help in trouble shooting, no contact number for support? These shouldn’t be the issues you should have after spending so much money!! So disappointed I will be returning…. 3 weeks of trying to get this connected and nothing?? I give up!

Hi Connor,
The Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box is the 4K version.
Thanks for using Q&A
No it is NOT the latest 8k Box. I purchased one based on the answer given by Argos and it is 4k and not compatable with HDMI 2.1.
Hello Leo,
From the information we have available, I can advise the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box is the newer 8K version. This model supports 8K content at 60Hz and 4K content at 120Hz, making it ideal for high-quality video and gaming experiences.
Thank you for using Q&A
Hello there
You should be able to connect the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box to your current Phillips Hue Bridge as each bridge can connect up to 50 devices.
I hope this helps
Thanks for using Q&A

Hello there,
No, as the device needs to see the image through an input HDMI. Anything you view on the Sky Glass that isn't connected via HDMI won't be affected.
Thanks for using Q&A
Hello there,
This can support 4K at 60Hz, it uses HDMI 2.0.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello there,
Yes as the signal is still transmitted to the TV via a HDMI lead.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Je46,
Thanks for your query about the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box.
Yes you can add more hue lights to this and they can all be controlled via Philips Hue Bridge.
Yes they should connect through your sync box. You also need to make sure you have a hue bridge connected for the sync box to work. I have philips hue play lights connected to my sync box and tv I love the effect it gives especially watching action movies. Hope this helps
