Very pleased with this camera. We bought it to monitor our cat while we're away for a couple of nights, used in conjunction with an automatic feeder. Works brilliantly. Very cheap to buy from Argos but seems be of good quality. Fairly easy to install and set up.

The hardware and detection is very good. BUT, TP Link OWN the device and if you want access to videos apart from the camera it is convoluted and long winded UNLESS you subscribe to their cloud.

Usually, turning the camera off and then on again will automatically restore the connection. If not, you may need to reconfigure it. However, we do not recommend turning the camera on and off frequently.

Yes, the camera supports continuous 24/7 recording when a microSD card (up to 512GB) is installed. This feature can be enabled in the Tapo app under the recording settings. Cloud storage and event-based recording are also available, but for uninterrupted footage, local storage via microSD is recommended.
Window Placement & Infrared Control:
We do not recommend placing the camera behind glass (such as windows). At night, light will reflect off the glass, reducing image quality. In addition, glass will block the motion sensor of the battery camera, making it unable to detect motions. For best performance, the camera should be installed in an open area without glass obstruction.''

Tapo C200 1080P Full HD Pan/Tilt Wi-Fi Home Security Camera 466/7999
If you don't have a router, you can pair the camera to your phone's hotspot.
However, after configuration, if you want to watch the live view or manage your camera remotely, your phone's hotspot must stay on to provide the camera with a stable network connection.
This means the phone must be placed near the camera, and the hotspot cannot be turned off.
