Good first machine
This was bought as a first sewing machine for an 11 year old. Within less than half an hour she was able to thread it up by herself and sew practice lines. As an experienced sew-er I particularly like how lightweight the machine is and how easy the drop in bobbin facility is; the thread cutter on the side is nice and sharp; there are clear raised markings on the actual machine to indicate where the thread goes and there is a small instruction sheet. There are also a couple of YouTube videos showing the unboxing of this machine, not by the manufacturer, which novices will find useful. Overall it's a good, basic, affordable machine, good for new sew-ers or as a spare second machine.

Yes, you can sew denim with this sewing machine, but a denim needle (also called a jeans needle) in size 16 (100/16) is recommended for thicker denim. You can also use a universal needle in size 14 (90/14) for midweight denim.
