About this product
Breaking through concrete or removing old tiles? The Guild Corded SDS Rotary Hammer Drill delivers 1000W power for masonry work. It's built for wood, steel and concrete with three operating modes. You'll switch between rotary drilling, hammer drilling and chiselling as the job demands. The keyless chuck accepts SDS parts quickly without extra tools. It handles large diameter holes with 990 RPM and up to 4300 blows per minute. This corded tool means consistent power for demanding jobs without battery concerns.
The removable auxiliary handle gives you better control during overhead work. You'll drill 40mm into wood, 13mm into steel and 26mm into masonry. The soft-grip design reduces hand fatigue during extended drilling sessions. It's supplied with three SDS drill parts, point and flat chisels. A depth gauge helps you drill to exact specifications every time. The dust cover keeps your workspace cleaner as you work. Everything stores neatly in the included carry case for site transport.

Punctures through the hardest concrete
I got this last month to drill a hole through hard concrete to put some curtain rods up, since my cordless Dewalt wasn't up to the task. This was my first time using an SDS, and it punctured holes in the wall in a matter of seconds 'Wow what a beast of a machine' - very impressed with it overall. It's designed well and handled the job without any issue, can be used like a pneumatic drill to take off tiles and for other hard jobs. Well worth the money.

Great SDS Drill
Great SDS drill at a great price with excellent service. This is a great addition to your tool kit for DIY. The first time i used it I thought there was something wrong with the brickwork it went through it so easily compared to a standard combi drill. The case and and SDS drill bits included were also a nice touch

Same price as a days hire!!
Bought this drill on offer as it was the same price as a days hire. Quite impressed with it actually, it did the job no problem, 35mm holes in concrete!! I have another 8 holes to do which i have every confidence it will manage.

I bought this to break up a slab of concrete approx 5 x 10 feet in my garden. I figured it was cheap enough to not worry about ruining it. Happy to report it was more than capable and survived just fine. I resharpened the chisels a couple of times but they are consumables anyway. I put some extra grease in the chuck and top of the drill and let it cool down periodically but I didn't go particularly easy on it. Very happy with it and I'd say it's paid for itself already.

Hi Dave.
Guild Corded SDS Rotary Hammer Drill - 1000W:
Other SDS bits can be used with the Hammer Drill. It is recommend that only high quality SDS bits be used.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Donna.
The supplier has confirmed. The Guild Corded SDS Rotary Drill 1000W is rated for masonry drilling up to 26mm, so it is unlikely to drill 40mm holes in brick
Thank you for using Q&A
This needs lubrication. The drill has grease lid which needs to be topped up when the performance degrades as per the manual. Also in the manual it recommends to lubricate the bit shank as well. Recommendation is to use a lithium based grease.
Hope this helps.

Hello there,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Guild Corded SDS Rotary Hammer Drill - 1000W: We would only using the sized drill bits supplied with the drill (8/10/12x150mm)
Please be aware that SDS rotary drills can be used for some mixing tasks, they are not ideal for heavy-duty concrete mixing. SDS drills are primarily designed for drilling into hard materials like concrete and masonry. While some SDS drills come with mixing paddles, they are generally not as powerful as dedicated concrete mixers and may not be able to handle large quantities or heavy mixes.
Thank you for using Q&A.

Hi Rosie
Guild Corded SDS Rotary Hammer Drill - 1000W.
The drill does come with an auxiliary handle. The handle can be moved to allow for different positioning for drilling and chiselling, such as tiles. Please see the link below for the operating manual:

The front handle grip is very easy turn to any position so if you have an angled 25 ° chisel then it would be a breeze
Maybe Argos can remove the picture on the page which says it can easily be switched to reverse, when the picture is of a drill action selection mode.
