Consumer friendly DIY Kit

I was really impressed with how easy this alarm kit was to install, it's all wireless, so no need to run wires or limit your positioning. The app is a bit clunky but does the job and it all works with Alexa, which I haven't set up yet but is a useful addition. This kit comes with 1 PIR sensor, although a more expensive kit is available with 2, and they are available to buy separately to add to the system. Unfortunately as I have cats I would need the pet specific PIRs, again these are available separately (although not from Argos) but makes the sensor provided redundant and a bit of a waste. A pet version of the kit would be good and avoid the wasted sensor. The sensor mounts to the wall via screws I seated through the case body, this is a neat idea but means that once I stalled there is no movement or adjustment like you would get with a mounting bracket. The Geo-location function is neat, it reminds you to set your alarm if you leave your house, great for when you first install it, but it might get annoying if you leave but there's someone still in the house. Overall, it's a great starter kit for the price with the ability to expand if required.

A great alarm, once installed.

The yale smart home alarm came really well packaged, with everything you need for self installation. The set includes a wall alarm, motion sensor, key pad and home hub. The app is easy to set up, the system is really simple to set up. However, installing the system to the walls was more fiddly as you need to screw through the plasic casing of the sensor and keypad. The instructions could have been clearer. With that being said, once the alarm is set up, its excellent. You can arm, disarm or part arm remotely through the app or by using the keypad. The alarm is really loud, I pushed to panic button for 5 seconds, unprepared for how loud the system would be. The alarm is easy to turn off once activated.

Comprehensive alarm system

have to say I’m quite impressed with its features and performance. Setting up the system was straightforward; I had it up and running within an hour. The kit comes with everything you need to secure your home: a hub, a motion detector, a door/window contact sensor, and a keypad. I appreciate the system’s flexibility; I can add more sensors or accessories to expand the setup if needed. The alarm itself is loud enough to alert neighbors if triggered, which is a great deterrent for intruders. The system also supports additional features like a smoke detector and a smart plug, which I plan to integrate into my setup soon. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the Yale Sync Home Alarm Kit. It’s a reliable and user-friendly solution for anyone looking to enhance their home security without breaking the bank. I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a comprehensive DIY alarm system.

Excellent home alarm as a starter

This is an excellent starter kit which comes with easy to follow instructions. It comes with great accessories to start with at this price. It would have been nice to have some more sensors included rather than just the one but these can be purchased separately. When setting up the app can be a little temperamental but once you get it set up it works fine. Overall a great product from Yale.

Great alarm

This is a great wireless alarm that was easy to install as it comes with all fixings and battery’s included, you will need a large ladder to fix the box to the house, extra accessories can also be added at a later time, very easy product to use via the app, overall a great product

Ok for a starter pack.

The app is easy to install and the instructions are easily followed (less overwhelming than the paper instruction manual provided). However, we've had and still are experiencing issues with trying to "add device" to the app in order that we can successfully use it and until we have done this, I cannot provide any further information. It beeps to state it's connected but the app doesn't register connection so I will update the review once this has been sorted. Also, whilst it is good to have a portable keypad, it would be really helpful if there was a slot in the back to hang the keypad somewhere in a spot where it is easy to find by all household members for use. It's only a matter of time before the alarm gets triggered (accidently) in my household and the keypad is nowhere to be found! Perhaps it can be turned off at the app (I've yet to explore this option fully) Not so keen on the bright yellow colour but that's likely to fade in time - Would have preferred black background and yellow text!

Simple to set up, easy to manage and works great

Everything you need is right there in the box, with simple to set up instructions, all the fixings and attachments needed and the app which sets everything up for you as go, easy to alarm and disable with the app along with the keypad and notifications when alarm is activated really keeps you informed of what is happening at home when you’re not there, simple to add more devices to the system if necessary helps keep the full house and outbuildings covered all with one system, and the siren is very loud from the outside siren and the hub gives peace of mind it will disturb anyone trying to break in. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting an all in one system to protect their home

Great alarm for home

The alarm is easy to set up and use, great feature of added app for when we are away, and being able to secure different rooms at different times, key pad is small and not as big and intrusive as the old style.

Good but for DYI experts?

I was looking forward to testing my DYI skills on this alarm, it sounded all easy to set up and I looked up at online videos and read the instructions soon as it arrived. It’s all good until it started not to want to park with my Alexa and I had to look for troubleshooting online again. Once I then realised that I still needed someone to get on a very tall ladder to fix the syren, I decided to call in an installation expert and let them do the whole set up for me again, which in se defeats the purpose of buying this sort of set. Also to note that the syren is very unattractive, really yellow, though someone might want to argue that should stand out and keep burglars off! And there is only one sensor in this kit and you will definitely need to add more to keep the house secure. Overall a good starter kit for a first alarm
