Bought this item several weeks ago as a basic belt sander. I am using it as a bench belt sander/grinder which it is perfect for. Especially since you are able to latch the power switch ON and has variable speed control.

Glad I bought this budget belt sander, so far its exceeded expectations. My old Makita broke and needed one to finish off a birthday present (I'm a retired carpenter) plenty of power/speed and belt stayed on track.
