Doing the job
Did everything it said on the packet. Plants look great. Watering is easier. Not blowing away and resisting birds and other creatures. Leaves are developing very quickly now.

Poor quality compared to before
I've been buying this compost from Argos for years. Miracle Gro has changed the composition: it's not as fine, not as good quality. I get gnats immediately and lots of it, yes there's always a chance of getting gnats but it was a handful before. Still charging us the same for poorer quality compost. Please bring it back to the way it was. I like having one place to do all my shopping from and I can't get to the other DIY stores so Argos expanding into gardening has been hugely helpful.

"I have been advised that Miracle‑Gro Peat Free All Purpose Compost does not require PAS 100 certification.
PAS 100 applies to waste materials. The green compost used in this product has already been fully processed before purchase and is therefore no longer classified as a waste material."

The Miracle-Gro 40L Peat Free Premium All Purpose Compost being peat free would be suitable for growing watermelon seeds however please bear in mind that a sandy loam soil is one of the best choices for growing watermelons.

The miacle gro compost is meant to help faster growth for plants and seeds so this would be fine to use with grass seed, although the ground underneath may need raking so that the seed is not blown away.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Miracle-Gro 40L Peat Free Premium All Purpose Compost: ''They could use Miracle-Gro 40L Peat Free Premium All-Purpose Compost 272/7099 as a lawn dressing but we would suggest they sieve it first as it will contain larger materials and is courser than lawn dressing (which is much finer).
If they are looking to overseed and thicken their lawn we would recommend they use Thick r lawn which is a grass seed and fertiliser in one. There are also several articles on the Lovethegarden with advice on lawn care.''
