Cheap and slightly cheerful
On the surface it's a decent little kit. It is very quiet however. Not sure that I would buy it again, as it doesn't really hit the mark for our boy who became quite fed up with it quickly.

No guitar strap means it’s not easy to use
Bought this as we’d previously bought the piano of the same make which is excellent but was disappointed with the fact that the guitar does not have a strap and therefore not easy for a child to hold and play at the same time. Our granddaughter loves to sign so the microphone and amplifier and getting good use so not all bad.

Yes the the microphone plugs into the speaker that’s where the sound is heard from. The guitar can be used with or without the speaker to make a sound

I can confirm the microphone does not have independent controls to that on the amplifier unit.

You are not doing anything wrong. It is just a junky toy and doesnt work

You need to ensure that the mic and guitar are both connected properly to the Amp (and make sure they are on) you will also have to turn the volume of the Amp up
