Does not meet description. Bought to use with Alexa as in product description but TV asks me to press two buttons not on provided remote . Internet requires password re-entered daily ...all 16 mixed characters. No manual or instructions so seems trying to make work blind...even on screen 'manual' refers to buttons unavailable. Feels like a nightmare TV.

No, you cannot. It features USB recording and video playback so you could pause those recordings but not live TV.
It's compatible with the following smart apps: Now TV, Disney+, Netflix, BBC iPlayer, iTVX, My5, All 4, Amazon Prime, YouTube. If those have the option to pause live TV, then you might be able to do so through the apps but it cannot be done via the TV itself.
