Took ages to set it up, because the one sheet failed to mention, that once it is all connected, you swotch on the soundbar first, then the TV. No digital optical cable included - Why? The soundbar now works well. Basically, for a ha'penny worth of tar, the ship sinks

Had it a few weeks and been amazed at its power and features. Easy to set up via Bluetooth to TV and Sub connects to bar automatically when it's turned on. You can lower the bass speaker individually so it doesn't boom later at night and stuff on terrestrial in HD like Dr Who sound amazing, you can hear things behind you...

Sorry to hear this. Unplug the soundbar from the wall outlet and check where the two parts of the power cord connect. Your power cord actually comes in two parts and it is this connection between them that is most likely to be forgotten about. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet first, and then check where the two parts connect. Be sure to connect them firmly; they should not easily disconnect.
Make sure the wall outlet is working by plugging another device in, like a lamp.
Check the power cord connection on the back of the sound bar.
If all of this seems correct and still no power then I advise popping it in to a local branch to be inspected.

After some investigation I have found the answered to your question. If your TV is HDMI eARC enabled and this Samsung HW-B530 2.1Ch Bluetooth Sound Bar With Wireless Sub is only compatible with HDMI ARC, you’ll likely get a sound – but the bandwidth restrictions of ARC will mean you won’t be able to experience the high bitrate audio that eARC can provide.
