The only thing that let this device down is its battery operated and very expensive price as you are are always replacing batteries it's would of been much better quality with a USB socket that you charge .so I wouldn't recommend .

Great entertainment for the cat
Purchased this for a house cat who enjoys hunting. Yes it makes a slight whiring noise when in use but it is not overly loud and the timer does last a good while. So far so good.

Great item to keep kitties entertained.
Purchased as I have had one before with another cat. This item is very good for cats or kittens with excess energy. It’s easy to set up, just putting in batteries. The mirror inside can be easily adjusted for different ages of cats ie I have a kitten, so adjusted the mirror to be low to the ground. But my previous cat was older, so I adjusted it to higher off the ground and on walls. Batteries last a while too. It’s not noisy and keeps him entertained. The automatic switch off is a great feature too, it means the cats are not overstimulated.

Yes, the PetSafe FroliCat BOLT Automatic Laser Light has a mirror to aim the laser in different directions, chase across the floor, up the walls and over furniture. so the game stays fresh and exciting.

There is an adjuster on the top back of the unit that can alter the angle of the mirror inside. This then can alter the laser and make it cover more distance or project up a wall. The adjustment is very sensitive.

There is a little button on the back to turn it on and off. But once on, it automatically will switch off after twenty minutes.
You have to switch it on manually, it is not motion activated.

This toy requires 4 AA batteries which are not included.

Any toy where the cat cannot catch the prey at the end of the game causes the cat frustration and will lead to your pet being annoyed and upset. Laser toys are a great example of what not to play with your cat. Argos please removed these from your products, please. Buyers - do not buy these toys if you care about your pet.

Please see the following response from the manufacturer:
Regarding the concern of the laser damaging the cat’s eye, that is highly unlikely due to several factors.
- The Blink Reflex is an involuntary blinking of the eyelids elicited by stimulation of the cornea. Stimulation should elicit both a direct and consensual response (response of the opposite eye). The reflex occurs at a rapid rate of 0.1 seconds. The purpose of this reflex is to protect the eyes from foreign bodies and bright lights.
Based on this reflex, if the light were to pass through a cat’s eye, the blinking it would cause would protect them from any damage.
- The toy is programmed to move the laser, then turn off. Because of this movement, the laser would not be directly placed on the eye, even if the cat tried to stare directly into it. Even if the laser does pass over the eye, slpit second exposure from type II laser pointers will not result in any permanent damage.
We have never found any record of a laser pointer of the class II variety to cause any damage of any sort whatsoever, whether it is from our products, or any other company.
