About this product

Loch Tay is a compact, thornless blackberry from Marshalls Garden with short, upright canes that are easy to manage and need only a simple post for support. A modern Scottish-bred variety developed by the SCRI, it produces rich, full-flavoured berries that ripen from mid-August (harvest July–September). When established, each plant can yield up to 10lb of fruit, ideal for eating fresh, freezing or making jams. Hardy (H4) and perennial, Loch Tay attracts pollinators and suits patios, small gardens, walls and allotments. Prefers fertile, well-drained soil pH 5.5–7.0.
