Basic monitor
We brought this earlier this month as our original monitor (different one) finally gave up after 3.5 years. The monitor I’m reviewing is fine if you haven’t experienced anything else. It does the job at just being able to see my son at night. For the price, it’s not bad. Clear enough sound wise that we can work out when he’s crying/needing us. The battery life is great and it can reach downstairs range wise. But you can’t move the camera from the screen and what you can see isn’t very clear. I can see the top half of his bed and that’s about it. Our original was very clear sound and visuals, we could see the whole room, move around, zoom in and out. So if you want cheap and cheerful and does a basic job, it’s totally fine, but if you have an escape artist toddler who runs around their room at night, it might not be for you. If you want more reassurance at a new parent and can afford more, get a better one

Worth the price but nothing extraordinary
Bought about 3 weeks ago for my 12 week old. Works great both day and night, clear enough picture but nothing amazing, and has decent features. Only downside is the loudness of the sound when pressing buttons, can’t seem to turn that down or off. Well worth the price tag in my opinion.

The VTech VM3254 case is made from ABS plastic, PVC is used in the product, but mainly in the insulation of wiring.

"The VTech VM3254 is a video monitor and has no wi-fi enablement, as with all video monitors, the reviewing is purely live via the parent unit (viewing screen).
If you would like to record/download footage, we will need to purchase one of our smart baby monitors with the prefix ‘RM’, an example being the VTech RM7787HD 7” Over-The-Cot smart video monitor."
