Bought this with the Ortho mattress included plus headboard. Testing the mattress it is very firm exactly what I need for support for my back issues . It gives a comfortable nights sleep so ticks all the boxes for my needs .

I can advise that the drawers on the Silentnight Ortho 2Drw S.Double Divan & Headboard - Charcoal are on the same part of the base so one opens to the left and opens to the right.

Silentnight Travis Single Ortho 2 Drawer Divan Bed- Charcoal790/8325 This bed does have a solid base to an extent. It does not have any slats. Due to the drawers being underneath the base it does mean there is space under it for the drawers.
