About this product
The Habitat Orton Ottoman Bed gives you kingsize sleeping space with hidden storage built right in. It's upholstered in a soft beige linen-look fabric that sits nicely with most bedroom colours. The padded headboard's got a gentle wave shape that adds a bit of character without fuss. Lift the end of the bed frame and you'll find 829L of storage space underneath, ideal for spare bedding, seasonal clothes, or anything you want tucked away. Sprung wooden slats support your mattress and let air circulate to keep everything fresh.
The upholstered frame's got a durable fabric finish that stands up to daily wear. The storage area underneath measures 27cm high and gives you proper room for bulkier items like duvets or pillows. The frame sits just 1.5cm off the floor, close enough to keep dust out but you can still hoover around the edges. It'll support up to 220kg, so it's built to last. Arrives in two parcels with all the fixings you need, two people recommended for assembly. Comes with a one-year guarantee.

Bed review
Assembling was reasonably straightforward but it did take some time to complete its assembly. We found that initially both of the lifting struts were very difficult to get moving. Even after some use the bed still does not always go down evenly or smoothly. Apart from that the bed is good, solid, comfortable to use with plenty of storage.

Excellent value for money
I bought this last month and I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Well packaged and delivered to the location of my choice. Relatively easy to assemble by two persons, both female in my case, with clear instructions. Two of the furniture bolts supplied were 15mm too short. But replacements were easy and inexpensive to obtain, so didn't resort to Argos replacement parts. Took us a couple of hours to assemble but we took it one step at a time. Very pleased with the quality of construction and finish, and the storage capacity. For the price, I consider this bed frame to be excellent value for money. I have matched it with a pocket sprung mattress and find it very comfortable. True to illustration and looks good in the bedroom. Good communication for delivery time and friendly operatives. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Beautiful shape
Really beautiful bed for the money. The shape of the headboard is perfect. Large under bed storage. It does only have a piece of fabric for the base rather than hardboard like other ottomans. I actually prefer this as you don’t have to use it and that means you can hoover when needed under the bed. The other thing we did when putting the bed together was fixing in place the pistons before adding the slates. Just got to remember that the pistons don’t go down unless the mattress is on. So stand inside the frame push down on the end and that will counterbalance and the pistons will go down ready to put the slates on. Hope that makes sense and helps.

Really nice bedframe
I'm really happy with this bedframe. The storage under it is really spacious. I did have some difficulties with putting it together, but I managed in the end. Would definitely recommend everyone.

Very difficult assembly. Cannot use storage.
I bought this bed a couple of weeks ago. It was very cumbersome and difficult to assemble. To the point where I cannot use the ottoman storage. We tried to call the helpline but there were long waits. I tried again more than once and the one time I did get through the line went dead. It was such a bad experience that I’d rather not think about it anymore. I’ll get the bed disposed of at some point and I’ll try to forget the whole sorry experience. I cannot recommend this particular brand I’m afraid.

Once built the gas lifts can be quite hard to pull down.
Presuming the item is built correctly you can use 2 hands spread apart on either end of the open end and pull down.

The bed uses a pressurised mechanism to raise and lower the bed. The mattress needs to be in place to enable the mechanism. It is a manual system that needs to be pulled down to lower.
