About this product
The Orton Fabric Double Ottoman Bed gives you comfortable sleeping and hidden storage that tucks away bedding when you're not using it. It's upholstered in a soft beige linen-like fabric with gentle padding, so it feels lovely against your skin. The curved wave headboard adds a relaxed shape without taking over the room. Sprung wooden slats underneath keep air flowing around your mattress and support it evenly across the surface. The end lift mechanism lets you access 710L of storage space, that's enough for spare duvets, pillows and seasonal bedding.
The storage compartment lifts from the foot end, so you've got clear access without moving bedside tables or lamps. The linen-look fabric wipes clean and keeps its appearance through regular use. The upholstered frame sits low to the floor with just 1.5cm from the ground, giving it a modern profile that works in most bedrooms. Sprung slats flex slightly with movement and provide lasting support. Self-assembly for two people, all fixings included, plus there's a one-year guarantee.

Excellent value for money
I bought this last month and I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Well packaged and delivered to the location of my choice. Relatively easy to assemble by two persons, both female in my case, with clear instructions. Two of the furniture bolts supplied were 15mm too short. But replacements were easy and inexpensive to obtain, so didn't resort to Argos replacement parts. Took us a couple of hours to assemble but we took it one step at a time. Very pleased with the quality of construction and finish, and the storage capacity. For the price, I consider this bed frame to be excellent value for money. I have matched it with a pocket sprung mattress and find it very comfortable. True to illustration and looks good in the bedroom. Good communication for delivery time and friendly operatives. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Beautiful shape
Really beautiful bed for the money. The shape of the headboard is perfect. Large under bed storage. It does only have a piece of fabric for the base rather than hardboard like other ottomans. I actually prefer this as you don’t have to use it and that means you can hoover when needed under the bed. The other thing we did when putting the bed together was fixing in place the pistons before adding the slates. Just got to remember that the pistons don’t go down unless the mattress is on. So stand inside the frame push down on the end and that will counterbalance and the pistons will go down ready to put the slates on. Hope that makes sense and helps.

Really nice bedframe
I'm really happy with this bedframe. The storage under it is really spacious. I did have some difficulties with putting it together, but I managed in the end. Would definitely recommend everyone.

Very difficult assembly. Cannot use storage.
I bought this bed a couple of weeks ago. It was very cumbersome and difficult to assemble. To the point where I cannot use the ottoman storage. We tried to call the helpline but there were long waits. I tried again more than once and the one time I did get through the line went dead. It was such a bad experience that I’d rather not think about it anymore. I’ll get the bed disposed of at some point and I’ll try to forget the whole sorry experience. I cannot recommend this particular brand I’m afraid.

Easy to build, stylish bed
We bought this a couple of months ago and all works as intended. Easy to assemble; however lifting up the bed frame with a mattress takes a bit of physical effort.

Once built the gas lifts can be quite hard to pull down.
Presuming the item is built correctly you can use 2 hands spread apart on either end of the open end and pull down.

The bed uses a pressurised mechanism to raise and lower the bed. The mattress needs to be in place to enable the mechanism. It is a manual system that needs to be pulled down to lower.

The distance from the metal support frame to the siderail top is 4cm. The 30cm depth mattress should be fine. (Please note the maximum weight of the mattress should not exceed 60kgs).
