About this product
The GFW Dakota Kingsize Fabric End Lift Ottoman Bed is built to create calm, organised mornings in a bedroom that works harder for you. It's an end-lift ottoman design that gives you generous storage underneath without taking up extra floor space, ideal for spare bedding, towels or seasonal items you want out of sight. The high winged headboard features button detail and large scrolls, adding character and presence. Soft chenille velvet fabric covers the frame, offering a comfortable surface that stands up to everyday bedroom use.
The ottoman mechanism lifts from the foot end, revealing storage space inside that holds up to 908 litres. Sprung wooden slats support the mattress evenly and provide ventilation underneath. The chenille velvet fabric is straightforward to look after with light brushing or gentle spot-cleaning. There's 3cm space beneath the bed for sweeping or hoovering without shifting heavy furniture. Two people are recommended for assembly, with all fixings included. Comes with a one year manufacturer's guarantee.

Great Value and Quality Ottoman Bed!
The GFW Dakota Kingsize Fabric End Lift Ottoman Bed is great. I bought it three weeks ago and I'm so glad I did. To compare, I also bought another ottoman bed from a different well-known brand. The GFW Dakota bed stands out because of its great price, high quality, and beautiful design. This item is both stylish and useful because it has a lot of storage space. I will definitely think about Argos again the next time I need to buy something. Very strongly suggested!

In hindsight, it's easy to put together. Everything screws together with an Allen key. The base slots/hooks together. In reality, the part we found tricky was the hinges for the ottoman. Also the metal base didn't rest where or how it said it should. The diagram was not correct, the pictures didn't reflect the actual hinges or position of the support bar. So this made it tricky. We had 2 manuals, one that came with the bed and the other from the argos website and the images were different. The bed looks ok, ottoman works OK. In hindsight I wished I'd gone for a velvet frame. Not too happy with the material of this, it looks ok, but it will have to do. Also the depth they say of the storage area is not entirely accurate as the singular support bar on the metal frame lowers this by about 2.5cm. When you buy this bed especially because of the large storage space, it's important you get the dimensions right!

Lovely bed - hard to put together !!
This bed is really hard to put up - it took my dad ( a hardened DIYer) my son and myself - a lot of blood, sweat and tears- not helped by the fact that a part was damaged and we had to wait for it to be re delivered. Despite this, now it’s done it is a really lovely looking and solid bed, with loads of storage space and I’m very happy with it.

I can confirm you would need a double mattress (W135, L190) for this bed. If you choose the king size bed you would need a king size mattress (W150, L200).
