Great looks and spec, but frustrating in practice
My old scales died after 14 years of sterling service, so I was on the hunt for some new ones and decided to go down the multi-data, app connectivity route. This would give me more information and I could better track and record data and look for trends. As I'm a Garmin device (and Garmin Connect app) user, I selected the Garmin Index S2 smart scales. They were pretty easy to set up and connect to my existing app, so all good. The instructions say that you turn the device on by tapping it with a foot, but that's never worked (I have to wake it up by lifting and dropping it with a toe) ... a bit odd, but still all good. About three days in, something seemed not right. There was a morning where the scales said I was 1.8kg heavier than the previous reading just 24 hours ago, despite having ran and not eaten too much during the intervening time. The following morning, I'd arranged to borrow a friend's simple scales as a comparison, and the Garmin was reading 1.5-1.8kg too high. I found that if I kept trying it would eventually give me a weight that tallied with what the borrowed scales were telling me, and I'd then have to manually delete the incorrect data from Garmin Connect. This means that most mornings have become a chore and a frustrating faff, rather than the simple half-asleep data collection I'd hoped it would be. I guess they could be faulty, but I'm being lazy and thinking that I'll persevere rather than go through the hassle of a return. Hey ho!

Great Scales
Bought this a couple of weeks ago to monitor and track my weight/BMI. The scales appear accurate - more so than the traditional scales we have. Easy to set up and link to my Garmin watch so that the data is logged and I can monitor weight loss (hopefully rather than gain!). Are they worth the money? For me, yes as they make things easier in this world where I seem to have less time to squeeze everything into.

Accurate and Perfectly Synced with Garmin Connect
I’ve been using the Garmin Index S2 smart scales every day, and they’ve been absolutely flawless. The setup was simple, and since then the scales have worked seamlessly without a hiccup. Every measurement feels accurate and consistent, giving me confidence in the tracking. What I appreciate most is how effortlessly it syncs with the Garmin Connect app — I can step on the scales, and my data is instantly updated and ready to review alongside my other fitness stats. The display is clear and easy to read, and the whole experience feels polished and reliable. For anyone already using the Garmin ecosystem, these scales are an excellent addition.

Awesome for Garmin users
Bought this with my Garmin watch as I wanted my weight tracking to be in the same place as my running updates. Very good scale. Allows multiple users, recognises user based on weight, connects to WiFi so don't need to have phone with you and Bluetooth on to track like my old scales
