Disappointing quality drop
I have had a Dedica for many years. The Dedica is limited but perfect for my needs, so when I needed a replacement, my old one had a good run of about 5 years... I replaced it like for like, I collected my new silver Dedica. The coffee scoop/ tamper was missing from the package and the drip tray, instead of being silver/chrome is some kind of sage green. In addition the metal filter which is inserted into the filter basket, is so tightly fitted, it is impossible to remove and therefore clean. I have had to use parts of my old machine to make this purchase functional and aesthetically sound. Pure stress limitation and time constraints have prevented me from returning it. I am disappointed, it seems there is a lack of quality control at the some point in the production process which ultimately spoils the customer experience and pleasure of making a new purchase.

Excellent home coffee machine
A good quality coffee machine, makes good espresso. The steam wand is good, takes a while to learn to create textured milk for flat whites, cappuccino milk too. Steamed milk for latte is easier.

Great but not perfect
Had my eye on this machine for a while, and am glad I bought it. For the price, the quality is very good. However, there are a few small issues. First, the water tank is very small, though that is to be expected from such a compact machine. If you’re tight on space or just don’t fancy a huge, heavy machine sat on your counter, this is the right machine for you. The biggest issue for me is how the filter fits the handle - when trying to knock the used grounds into the bin, the filter inevitably falls out too. I’ve not experienced this issue on other machines, so although it’s not the end of the world, it is a drawback worth being aware of. A simple Google will show you this is a common issue with this machine. All that said and done, I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend this machine!

De'Longhi Dedica Arte Espresso Coffee Machine
Upgrated from my previous Lavazza coffee machine. As coffee pods are more expensive and create more waste, this De'Longhi model is both, money smart and sustainable option. It takes extra time to clean the accessories, but it's definitely worth the money in the long run.
