Physically, netball is great for fitness, flexibility and strength, but being part of a netball team brings so many other benefits besides. It teaches teamwork, perseverance and problem solving and is a brilliant way to make friends and have fun, whether you’re playing at school or university or joining a local club. So, there’s no surprise that netball has become the UK’s number one female participation sport. If the netball bug has bitten you then we have all the kit you need, including netballs, netball posts and other netball equipment.
The game of netball developed from early versions of basketball and there are obvious similarities between the two, as well as some key differences. In netball, there are seven players to basketball’s five, and there’s no dribbling or running with the ball. The ball must also be passed within three seconds. Why not try them both - and if you decide you’re more into slam-dunks than shoulder passes we have basketballs and basketball hoops too.
Netball requires high levels of fitness so if you’re playing it competitively you’ll need to get in training. Jumping with a skipping rope is an effective exercise that needs little space, so you can do it at home or at the gym. Or mix it up with a game of squash or tennis - we have squash rackets and tennis rackets. Whatever sport you’re playing make sure you’re dressed to win in our range of high performance women’s sportswear, girls’ sportswear and women’s trainers.
