About this product

Lathyrus tingitanus 'Royal Purple' from Marshalls Garden is a vigorous, scent-free climbing sweet pea that produces masses of rich purple flowers throughout summer. This annual reaches 1.5-2.5m, making it perfect for covering arches, trellises, fences or for cutting. Sow seeds indoors in Oct-Nov or late Jan-Apr; soften or lightly nick tough seed coats to aid germination and transplant hardened-off plugs into a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained, enriched soil about 25cm apart. Pinch tips at around 10cm to promote bushy growth, feed with a potassium-rich liquid fertiliser, tie plants to supports and dead-head spent blooms to prolong flowering and maintain plant health.
