Energiser Rechargeable 9V Battery
I'm replacing my fire alarm batteries with rechargeable ones . I have used this type of battery in other small gadgets and they seem to work well . Cannot give a reliable estimate of battery life in a fire alarm but because of their performance in other things I've gone for 5 star performance , will probably be buying more later

Should've switched to rechargable sooner
Been using this within my music set-up, as I get through them really regularly it feels a lot more ecological and logical to have a rechargable one, works the exact same

Hard to find battery
Needed a rechargeable PP9 CELL for a PIR switch (no neutral). Toolstation and Screwfix let me down. Amazon delivery would have taken too long! Good old Argos (not to be confused with the Evening Argus newspaper). πππΌππΌππΌππΌππΌ

Thank you for using Q&A
I would like to correct both question and answer.
There is no such thing as a mvh - the term is mAh which stands for Milliampere hour and is a measure of the charge stored in a battery. The greater this number, the longer the battery will last in a given device without having to recharge it.
175 mAh is in fact a little low - the standard tends to be 200.
Just a spelling mistake in the description, it is actually 175mvh

Hi, thank you for your question.
I have looked into this and I am sorry I cannot advise of the exact time the battery will take to charge as this will vary with different chargers. The charge time will be approximately 7hrs.

You can also get this size of battery which gives 9.6 volts when fully charged, which is similar to what you'd expect from a non-rechargeable. Branded "Powerex". Made by Maha.

The small print
NICAD BATTERIES.<p>Due to the nature of Ni Cad rechargeable batteries, it is possible that the first charge, from new, will not produce 100% capacity and may give less running time than future charges. Optimum performance is often obtained from the battery after the third or fourth charge.
