Reliable Brita Replacement Water Jug Filters
This product cannot be described as poor or excellent. It was manufactured to do a particular job, i.e. filter water. As far as I can tell, it does that job exactly as the manufacturer intended. It is an ‘original equipment’ replacement to fit an original manufacturer’s water jug, so there are no compatibility problems. I have, in the past used non OEM (original equipment manufacturer) filters but they don’t generally seem to seal as well as the original Brita filters, which fit reliably and work as expected. Water clarity after filtration is excellent, and taste is unaffected. I live in a very hard water area so need to change the filter every 3-4 weeks to help prevent limescale build up in my kettle. Brita products are not particularly cheap, but are well made. My jug is around 10 years old.

Bought this to replace one that came with product. Original in use for 2/3 months. Difference these made was excellent, could visibly see. Will change cartridge more frequently in future.

"No, the Classic and MicroDisc aren’t the same.
The Classic cartridges are compatible with the Classic jug filters that are no longer manufactured by BRITA.
The MicroDiscs are compatible with the BRITA water filter bottles and the BRITA water filter carafe."

- Diameter around the largest part of the body is 18.5cm

I can confirm that these cartridges are not compatible. The Sainsburys jug is compatible with Argos Home cartridges, BRITA MAXTRA and MAXTRA+ cartridges.
