With an extra-wide 42cm cutting width, this Spear and Jackson mower has been designed especially for larger gardens. Supplied with two powerful 40V 4.0ah batteries, and a fast one-hour charger, you can use one battery whilst the other charges. And, being cordless, you can keep your lawn neat and tidy without the risk of cutting the cable.
The comb on the side of the mower brushes grass into the blades to ensure you can cut right up to the edge of your lawn, reducing the amount of trimming required.
Easy cut height adjustment means you can quickly change the cutting height to suit your lawn. There are 6 cutting heights on this mower, with a cut height range from 2.2cm to 7.2cm.
A built-in rear roller helps you achieve a precise, professional striped finish on your lawn. The mower has a 40L grass collection bag, and a mulching feature that cuts out the need to empty the grass box, leaving a fine mulch on the lawn.
The soft grip, ergonomic power handle offers improved comfort and grip. For extra peace of mind Spear & Jackson offer a 3-year guarantee on all Garden Power products.

Relatively easy to assemble. Cable clips missing but doesn't affect usage. Did a good job cutting the grass and only needed to use 1 battery. Not self propelling but reasonably easy to handle.

So far so good!
I've used the lawnmower only once so far but it cut through long grass (No-Mow May, June and have of July!) without much trouble at all. It collected up all the grass, clearly indicated when the bag was full and didn't clog up. The long grass took longer to cut so having the second battery was brilliant. Batteries charged quickly too. As I've only had it a short while, I can't comment on durability/ quality of the mower over time, hence 4 stars, but so far so good!

Good, easy to use lawnmower
Bought this lawnmower recently as my corded one had broken down. Decided on this model as it comes with two rechargeable batteries. It cuts well and one battery lasted long enough to cut my reasonably large lawn. I found it fairly easy to manoeuvre My only negative would be that the joint area of the two piece handle is a bit weak and wobbly in use. I would have preferred this to be a bit more robust.

Light and easy to use.
I have been wanting a battery mower for ages. This one doesn’t disappoint. It cuts well and stays charged for ages. It is a bit tricky to put together but there is a very helpful YouTube video to help you. I was lucky enough to get the mower in the sale- a great price.

Pleased with cutting and grass box to later mulch.
I was able to cut longish grass and the box received it well which I then put the cut grass around trees and plants as a mulch. Very happy with this purchase, Also pleased to have two batteries so I can continue to mow after the first battery has done its job.

Good to have two batteries. One sufficed to do my lawns and grass verge. Cut well up to the edges of the lawns. Found it difficult to set up but then I am not particularly good at such things. The handles caused me most problems.

Title good and easy to use
I have only had my blue machine for a couple of days but have enjoyed one cut of lawn. The lawn likes it and so do I. It is also quite easy to move around and although a little noisy I don’t think it wakes the any snoozers around the area.

Great cordless mower.
Bought to replace a 15 year old Spear and Jackson petrol mower whose self drive function had broken and could not be repaired. I knew this battery model did not have self drive but is much lighter and more easily pushed up slight slopes. It has worked well. It is easy to assemble ( even the grass bag). It has 3 batteries which charge fairly quickly. It cuts h grass well and the mulching plug works perfectly. I would recommend it highly.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Spear & Jackson 42cm Cordless Rotary Lawnmower - 40V: This mower is a cordless mower and can only be operated via either of the 2 supplied batteries. It can not be operated by the mains. By having 2 batteries, one battery can be used in the mower whilst the other is charged in the fast charger provided, therefore there shouldn’t be any risk of running out of charge when cutting your lawn.

“ This model is a push mower without power driven wheels. Cordless mowers are considerably lighter than petrol mowers and so the need for power driven wheels is reduced when using cordless lawnmowers. Power driven wheels on a cordless mower will also drain the battery quicker, reducing the cutting time, so is not required. ”
