With its integrated, adjustable harness and headrest, the Doona X meets the European i-Size safety regulation (R-129). The patented shock absorbers and smooth-release system offer a smoother and safer ride than ever. The Doona X comes with the Doona SIP add-on, providing enhanced side-impact protection.

The head cushion is to tight
Per total is good and very handy, however the head cushion is very tight. That's should be made adjustable.

The single best thing I've ever bought for a baby
I can't recommend the Doona X enough! By far the single best item I've ever bought for any of my children. I wish I'd had this for all of them! It's just incredibly light and a dream to push and lift (without a baby in it) and makes the school run (especially in the bad weather) a breeze. I hardly ever use my big pram any more and dreading when baby outgrows it. I understand it's a lot of money but it's absolutely worth it. The Doona X lays flat which was a god send when we went on holiday as we only had to take the Doona and not worry about a car seat plus stroller while out there. For those worrying it's something that won't last last, my little one is 7 months but a very big boy in 12-18 month clothes and chunky and still has plenty of room in it before he outgrows it. I've recommended this to anyone and everyone who will listen. 10/10 for the product and the service from Doona also when I had an issue. Take the plunge and buy it, you'll not be disappointed! :)

The Doona X is not safe the wheel fell off while my child was in the pram, the locks to turn it into the car seat and recline it got stuck. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Definitely improved upgrade with a small issue with newborn insert
We are just starting to use the new model. We are well familiar with previous Doona carseat model and loved it. We long awaited the upgrade especially features such as extra recline position and shock absorbent mechanism (when latching the stroller mode). However, a small but important concern with the newborn insert headrest. With the insert installed there is not much side cushions left which is even more important and needed for infants. The depths (or lengths) of side cushion of head support is not enough for the thickness of the newborn insert's head support. Thus, we need put some additional cushions around the head to avoid it moving side to side.
