A super space-saving bed that makes a stylish addition to any bedroom. The Madrid has a country artisan look and feel with its plank-and-panel-effect boxed base and tall, gently arched spindle headboard.
The sprung mattress base can be easily lifted at the foot end to reveal a deep storage space that's designed to accommodate quilts, cushions and extra bedding.

The comfiest bed frame
I bought this recently, it was easy to put together, definitely recommend 2 people to build it. Full body support when sleeping and great amount of storage space underneath.

Missing items
Bought this bed but have not been able to put it together because of missing screws 30 of them and 4 other fittings have been in touch with Argos and the people who packed the items and am still waiting nearly a week later . Have had to sleep on a mattress on the floor not good for a 71year old

Very disappointed
Was expecting better for the money. Missing some essentials, we used pieces from the bed we were replacing so we didn’t have to wait 5-7 days for delivery of replacement parts, only for find a central metal bar was damaged/twisted. Unfortunately by then we were committed and felt as my son needed a bed it was too late to return. Superficially it looks good and the storage option made it an ideal choice, so a real shame we had to source our own bolts and brackets and straighten metal in order to fit the bolts and assemble the bed. Recommendation, quality and assembly reviews are all based on the one we received being faulty.

Superb bed
Needed a new bed and this fit the bill perfectly, it's sturdy and comfortable. Instructions say two people to assemble and I'd recommend this, as I was on my own it took a while but it's one of the best beds I've had.

A Lovely Bed with ottoman storage
We bought this to replace our almost 50 yr old bed. It also had storage underneath but had become much too heavy to open easily. The construction of this new bed is much lighter and easier to lift. Apart from holding a few components steady, it is possible for one person to complete most of the assembly, the Instructions are very clear. We already have two single versions of this bed so knew we would be pleased with it.

The supplier has advised the following for the GFW Madrid Ottoman Single Wooden Bed Frame - Oak Effect:
“ No, we don’t provide any safety bar or leg with this ottoman bed. Within our instruction manual we do clearly state how to assemble the product correctly and how to operate the bed when in situ. We do provide guidance on how to care and look after the bed to ensure the product is working to its optimum capabilities. The piston mechanism we use within all our ottoman beds is designed when lifted to hold in the upright position on its own. This is a core design feature of the mechanism we use. Only when direct downward force is being applied to the bed frame then the mechanism will start to close whilst being guided downwards by human hand contact, as per our instruction manual. ”

The supplier has advised the following for the GFW Madrid Ottoman Single Wooden Bed Frame - White:
They don't specify an angle but they do give the height of the item when opened up. (This is the frame only does not include the extra height that the mattress and bedding you put on it would add).
The full height of the bed, including headboard, is 114cm. When the frame is raised up, its top edge has a height of 136.5cm from the floor.
The other specs of the bed's storage is as follows:

- Storage Width 90cm
- Storage Depth/Length 193cm
- Storage Volume (Litre) 364.77 litres
