Johnstone's Brilliant White Quick Dry Satin is suitable for use on interior wood and metal including skirting boards, radiators, doors and staircases. Low odour, water based formulation. Non-yellowing. Dry in 1-2 hours. Covers approx. 30m2 (per tin). Prime surfaces with Johnstone's Quick Dry Primer Undercoat.

Gives a nice finish
I used this paint to whiten the woodwork in a downstairs toilet. Two coats were applied over the previous paintwork, which had first been lightly-sanded and then coated with primer. The previously-white paintwork was oil-based and had gone yellowish over time. This paint is not oil-based and so it should hopefully stay white. It does give a nice satin finish. It was relatively easy to apply although you have to guard against drips more than was the case with oil based paint. Obviously, I have a lot of paint still in the tin, sol lots more paintwork still to be tackled....

No, this one is interior only. But you can get this paint for exterior use. The tin is green on the front & it says exterior on the tin.

This satin paint is self-undercoating so can be applied directly to previously painted surfaces without the need for a second product.
The supplier advises the following during preparation: "All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from grease. Remove any loose or flaking paint. Rub down sound glossy surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly to provide a key. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Prime bare surfaces with an appropriate Johnstone’s primer. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead".

It depends what colour the cupboards are to start with, the satin paint isn’t particularly thick and I had to use two coats of my woodwork.
