Very good but not great
Excellent coverage. Finish could be better.

Johnson’s paint
Johnson’s paint is probably one of the best paints I’ve ever used. It’s got great coverage and the colour brightness last for ages. I always prefer this paint to anything else.

Ok for touch-ups
Final finish is good, but this paint is really runny and needed 3-4 coats for good coverage. Thankfully, it dries quickly. Ok for touch-up, but don't bother for a larger job.

Skirting boards
Did the job perfectly ⭐️

Ok
Not as good as I had hoped for. Quick to apply and easy to cleanup afterwards, but leaves brush marks and not as resilient as traditional oil based paints. Supposed to avoid yellowing effect. Will use as an undercoat .

Nice bright white
Decent paint with fair coverage. It has chipped off in a couple of spots even though the previous paint was well prepped. Overall a nice bright white finish

Hello Anna,
I can confirm that this paint can be used over previously painted surfaces.
I hope this helps
Thank you for using Q&A
Hi Lish,
This satin paint is self-undercoating so can be applied directly to previously painted surfaces without the need for a second product.
The supplier advises the following during preparation: "All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from grease. Remove any loose or flaking paint. Rub down sound glossy surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly to provide a key. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Prime bare surfaces with an appropriate Johnstone’s primer. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead".
Thanks for using Q&A,
It depends what colour the cupboards are to start with, the satin paint isn’t particularly thick and I had to use two coats of my woodwork.
