Cuts through the thickest tin rims eg salmon like the proverbial hot knife... Note don't put in a dishwasher, rinse immediately and dry as it's not the best. steel but for the price ... Ergonomic with additional safety features.

A sound & reliable device at a good price.
Not an exciting purchase but one for a vital piece of kitchen equipment. It does all we want of it and it seems robust and easy to use. So far we've had no problems with it so we think its been a good buy that we're happy to recommend it to others looking for a simple, effective, reliable device to open cans.

Good value for money. Comfortable grip.
I've tried the can-opener only once, because I don't purchase many cans and a lot of those have a ring-pull. The grip is comfortable. I did have to run over one section of the can extra times, but I think it's because most cans aren't a perfect circle and are slightly misshapen. The item seems to be good value for money and as it won't be used a lot I expect it will be durable. (I'm a woman in her late sixties with small/medium-sized hands and average strength. No problems with arthritis (touch wood!)).

Great Value Can Opener
Have needed to replace the can opener for some time, and Which? rates this one. They are right as it is fantastic value for just a fiver. Ergonomics are great, easy to grip and opens the cans with ease. Should have got one of these ages ago. I would not hesitate in recommending it.

Lovely to have a sharp can opener, for the odd tin with no ring pull. Seems sturdy and the rip is fine for me. Good price point.

I have just purchased one an hour ago and it will not open ANY tin. Taking it straight back
No it will not nor will it open any other can, I have tried on a number occasions, as a young 87 year old. The cutting edge does not penetrate the metal edge

The supplier has advised the following for the Stainless Steel Can Opener:
This product is designed for use on normal cans so we cannot 100% guarantee. However, you could adjust the blade position and angle you hold the opener at (to allow for the shape of the edge of the Fray Bentos tin) and it's likely to then work.

Contrary to the above answer, THIS IS A RIGHT-HANDED TIN OPENER. The turning-cutting mechanism cannot be sensibly turned with the left hand.

Yes, the Can Opener is dishwasher safe, and has a 12 month warranty that covers issues arsing from faulty manufacture, it does not have a magnet.
